NBLC is a not-for-profit lapidary community at Albert Bishop Park in Nundah. We've grown around a shared love of stones - cutting them, setting them, and finding them in the field.

What we teach
Gem cutting, metalsmithing and fossicking
Members can join activities at any of the work sessions through the week. Some activities require completion of a specific course; we run those when an instructor is available and there's interest.
Gem cutting
Faceting on 5 club machines (taught over a 2-day workshop), cabochoning on diamond + silicon carbide grinders.
Metalsmithing
Silver and gold smithing with a rostered instructor. New members complete two guided projects to build core skills.
Fossicking
Regular field trips to Kilkivan, Windera, Cloyna and Ewingar Creek. Members are covered under the club's licence on trips.

Before you visit
Quick safety notes
Closed footwear must be worn in all work rooms. Long hair must be tied up — the workshop has motors with belts and wheels. Visitors are welcome to observe a work session by arrangement.
Q. Do I need to bring anything?
For your first visit, just turn up in closed shoes. The club has hand tools for beginners and you can buy material from the club. For metalsmithing wear old clothes or a cloth apron (mild acid is used).
